About
An honest read before you publish
ManuscriptMentor is an editorial companion for authors who want a straight answer about their manuscript before the world reads it.
What ManuscriptMentor does
Upload a draft and ManuscriptMentor reads the whole thing, then hands back a structured appraisal in plain language. The Check, which is always free, rates eight areas of the book with traffic-light verdicts and scans for the fingerprints of machine-written prose. The Deep Dive reads chapter by chapter for pacing, openings and line-level craft, and ends with an ordered revision plan. The Research extracts every verifiable claim and checks it against authoritative sources. The Shield looks for plagiarism and for the legal exposure that defamation and borrowed material can create.
We are deliberately neither a cheerleader nor a red pen. Every finding is an observation you can act on, tied to a chapter or a passage, framed as something to consider rather than a correction to obey. Nothing is invented: where a pattern is not there, the report says so. You can run a free Check on your manuscript and read the report before paying for anything.
Who it is for
It is built for independent authors, self-publishers and writers preparing a submission, working in fiction and non-fiction alike: novels, novellas, memoirs, essays and practical guides. It suits an author who has finished a draft and wants to know what to fix before an agent, an editor or a paying reader sees it.
It also suits authors who already work with an editor and want a second opinion that stands on specific evidence, and non-fiction authors who need their dates, statistics and named people checked before publication. The interface is offered in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch, and every report is written in the language of the manuscript itself.
Who builds it
ManuscriptMentor is built by D&H Publishing, the team behind a wider publishing pipeline that carries a manuscript from draft to shelf: appraisal and protection, blurb and metadata writing, interior typesetting, cover design, audiobook production, an author storefront and print production. ManuscriptMentor is the front door to that pipeline, and the first honest read a manuscript gets.
Questions, press and partnership enquiries are welcome: contact the team or write to dandhpublishing2026@gmail.com.
